AMA Film
Academy

A practical film school based in Krakow and Warsaw, Poland. Classical filmmaking craft meets AI production — under one roof. Founded by cinematographer Piotr Lenar (European Film Academy member) and operating since 2011.

// About

A film school with two souls

AMA Film Academy is the educational arm of AMA Film Center. We train filmmakers in two parallel traditions — classical craft (directing, cinematography, editing, sound, screenwriting, acting, production) and the new wave of AI-driven production (VFX & AI Production, AMA Future Filmmaking Lab, AI modules across all tracks).

Our students learn from working professionals — directors, cinematographers, editors and producers active in the Polish film industry. Programs run in Krakow (Bonarka Office) and Warsaw (CD Projekt campus on Jagiellońska 76), with full-time, weekend and online formats. We are listed in the Polish Ministry of Culture's Register of Non-Public Art Schools (no. 578/20/2011) and the Register of Training Institutions (no. 2.12/00121/2016).

What our AI students learn

AI programs at AMA cover the full spectrum of competencies needed in AI production. Beyond the dedicated tracks (VFX & AI, Future Filmmaking Lab), every classical track now includes AI modules — because every modern filmmaker will encounter AI in their workflow.

  • Cinematic prompt engineering — writing prompts for generative video models, controlling style, camera, lighting, character consistency.
  • ComfyUI workflows — node graphs, models, LoRA, automation for production-grade pipelines.
  • Text-to-video models — Sora 2, Veo 3.1, Kling 2.6, Runway Gen-4 — when to use which, how to iterate, how to budget.
  • VFX/AI compositing — Nuke + AI nodes, inpainting, neural rendering, upscaling.
  • Voice cloning & audio AI — ElevenLabs, generative music, AI sound design.
  • AI ethics & copyright — EU AI Act, Polish law, datasets, synthetic identities, deepfake responsibility.
  • AI team workflows — production pipelines, role definitions, model and version management.
  • Classical craft — directing, screenwriting, editing, sound, framing — the foundation of every film, AI or not.

// International applicants

Studying at AMA from abroad

AMA Film Academy welcomes international students. Most classical programs run in Polish, but several specialized AI tracks accommodate English-speaking participants — particularly in postproduction, VFX/AI and the Future Filmmaking Lab where the working language of AI tools is English by default.

One Movie Project — our flagship debut program — accepts international submissions in English. The program supports first-time filmmakers from anywhere with mentorship, production resources and access to AMA AI Film tools.

For international admissions, scholarship inquiries, or specific program questions in English, write to info@amafilmcenter.pl.
